  • Overview

    THE CENTECH GROUP, Inc. (CENTECH®) is seeking a Controller. The person in this position will be responsible for directing the organization's accounting functions. These functions include establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. They will prepare financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to senior management. The person in this position must rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. They will lead and direct the work of the Accounting Department staff. They will report to the chief financial officer.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that all corporate financial obligations are met in a timely manner.
    • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes
    • Supervise the preparation and timely distribution of monthly financial reports.
    • Supervise the analysis of financial statements, recognition of revenue and analyses monthly variances
    • Confirms accuracy and completeness of indirect expense rates and subsidiary ledgers
    • Serves as point of contact with financial institutions and the financial counterpart at the various client organizations
    • Oversee the cash management function including monthly line of credit bank reports.
    • Develop and implement sound accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the integrity of data and systems and that Company assets are protected.
    • Assure strict compliance with established accounting policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Financial Performance Reports (FPRs), et al.
    • Ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the department objectives and responsibilities
    • Reviews, supervises, undertakes training of accounting staff to ensure timeliness and accuracy of billing, payroll, accounts payable, cash collection and payments of taxes and tax reporting
    • Evaluate staff performance and conduct salary reviews
    • Work with managers to manage the risk profile of the company; identify at risk clients, and ensure that the company maximizes revenue and margins
    • Lead the development and integration of new accounting systems and reporting procedures and computer capabilities; coordinate with other operational areas to ensure that accounting system interfaces are reliable and accurate
    • Compile data concerning the effectiveness of current systems through the study of operations, examination of external and internal audit reports and discussion with company personnel
    • Prepare statistical information and reports for the annual budget process; coordinate and participate in the enterprise budgeting process
    • Provide cost information and support to the proposal and project management teams as it relates to new and existing business initiatives
    • Contribute to strategic planning and development as member of management team
    • Develop cost reduction and cost containment initiatives
    • Support all annual Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), insurance, state government audits and report audit findings to upper management
    • Prepare DCAA incurred cost submissions
    • Coordinate with tax preparers to ensure the timely preparation and payment of corporate income taxes
    • Provide advice and guidance to senior management
    • Promote company values by maintaining the confidentiality of financial information

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or management
    • An active CPA license
    • Minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience in delivering financial and management consulting services
    • Minimum five (5) year experience working on Deltek Costpoint 7
    • Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Proven ability to meet daily and monthly timelines and deliverables
    • Excellent written and oral communication
    • Advanced Excel and solid data management skills
