Overview

THE CENTECH GROUP, Inc. (CENTECH®) is seeking an experienced Applications Developer. Under the guidance of the Project Manager, the person in this position is responsible for assigned specific task and insuring that the technical solutions and schedules in the task are implemented in a timely manner. They will possess and apply their expertise on multiple complex work assignments which are broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. They must have the ability to apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. The person in this position plans and leads major technology assignments. They evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. This person functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. They may supervise others.

Responsibilities

Supports the following as a Jave developer:

  • Review of database management software onto which the IBM Maximo 7.6 application and database will be installed. The objective is to properly plan to minimize the time required for installation and to design a target environment that will support the expected concurrent user load at go-live.
  • Establish requisite Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliant server environments in accordance with current system architecture and changes identified in the System Infrastructure Plan 
  • Upgrade Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.4.0 - 64bit to Oracle Database 12c R1
  • Verify successful integration of all configurations with Maximo 7.6
    • Refactor code as needed to support needed architectural changes        
      • Scheduled jobs
      • Scripts written to account for database schema changes
  • Select two customized SAM functionalities for integration with upgraded MAXIMO
    • Refactor selected customized code to support needed architectural changes 
  • All changes will be:
    • Verified compatible with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Image 10
    • Single Sign-On enabled
    • Public key infrastructure (PKI) access enabled
    • Configuration managed such that traceability exists to identify all changes from the current release baseline to the delivered baseline
    • DISA STIG compliant
    • Chief Financial Office (CFO) compliant
    • CFO compliant
  • Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software
  • Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications
  • Researches, tests, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements. Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software
  • Evaluates effectiveness
  • Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms
  • Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements
  • Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
  • Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools
  • Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
  • Acts as team leader on projects. Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of others on the development team
  • Participates in development of software user manuals and technical reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six (6) years’ experience
  • Experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree (depending upon specific position)
