Overview

This is a proposed project opportunity for various positions at the Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation located in Orlando, Florida. 

 

THE CENTECH GROUP, Inc. (CENTECH®) is seeking a Senior Information Assurance Engineer (Site Lead) to support all activities relating to information assurance procedures and systems on a contract for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. The person in this position develops information systems assurance programs and control guidelines; confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures and resolving technical problems, priorities, and methods; and provides guidance on internal controls and security procedures. This person also prepares activity and progress reports relating to the information systems audit function.

Responsibilities

  • Provides information assurance (IA) oversight, guidance and support to the customer community in accordance with federal, DoD, and U.S. Air Force IA programs
  • Ensures all applicable systems/networks/computing environments meet security requirements and that all security risks for those environments are properly mitigated
  • Provides technical and programmatic IA services in support of system-level certification and accreditation processes in accordance with (IAW) DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and public law compliance data
  • Ensures all mandated training and certification requirements are met IAW DoD and local policies/directives
  • Tracks and manages all open security-related problem reports and fixes
  • Directs team members and assist customer program managers in the analysis of security solutions and in the assessment of networks, systems and desktop computing environments under development
  • Ensures all systems/networks/computing environments are appropriately accredited
  • Provides necessary support for certification and accreditation (C&A) requirements as well as re-accreditation requirements
  • Ensures configuration management for systems/networks/computing systems and hardware is documented and maintained
  • Leads cybersecurity projects as required
  • Documents and reports on annual security reviews in compliance with U.S. Air Force, DoD and federal directives
  • Reviews all IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM) alerts, bulletins and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) for applicable implementation and remediation in the customer’s network/computing environment(s)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IA, Information Systems Management or equivalent
  • Seven to ten (7-10) years of experience with IA practices within the DoD or other federal agency
  • At least three (3) years of experience in general information technology engineering, operations and/or management
  • Current CISSP or equivalent certification at time of employment
  • Extensive knowledge of federal IA directives, instruction sand cyber defense procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of risk assessment, security test and evaluation procedures, C&A and security documentation, and incident reporting 
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Knowledge of Windows/UNIX/Linux security is highly desirable
